Ahmed Nasreldein on Sex Disparities in Thrombolysis Delay Among Egyptian Stroke Patients

Ahmed Nasreldein, Professor of Neurology at Assiut University, shared on LinkedIn:

”I’m happy to share that our manuscript on sex disparities in pre-hospital and in-hospital delays to intravenous thrombolysis in Egyptian acute ischemic stroke patients has been published in Neuroepiddmiology Journal

In this prospective study which included 897 patients , we found that female patients experienced longer delays before reaching the hospital, while in-hospital care times were similar between women and men.

This suggests that the main challenge lies in prehospital stroke recognition and access to care, especially for women.

I’m grateful to all co-authors, colleagues, and our patients who made this work possible.

I hope these findings help support efforts to improve timely and equitable stroke care.”
