Hammam Alminshawi: Time is Brain – Optimizing MRI for Acute Ischemic Stroke
Hammam Alminshawi, Second Radiology Specialist | Diagnostic Imaging, Radiation Safety, and PACS Optimization at Ministry of Health Khartoum State, shared on LinkedIn:
”Time is Brain: Optimizing MRI for Acute Ischemic Stroke
Standard MRI protocols for stroke can take 15-20 minutes. In a “hyperacute” setting, every minute counts.
I am excited to share an overview of my doctoral research at Sudan University of Science and Technology, focusing on: “Evaluation of MRI Protocol Optimization Strategies for Acute Ischemic Stroke”.
The Core Mission: To validate a “Rapid MRI Protocol” (6-10 minutes) that maintains high diagnostic sensitivity while significantly accelerating the “Door-to-Needle” time.
Research Methodology:
● Track 1: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of global evidence (2000-2025).
● Track 2: A Prospective Multi-Center Study targeting 250-300 patients.
● Focus Sequences: Optimized DWI, ADC, FLAIR, and 3D TOF-MRA.
● Primary Target: Improving outcomes in resource-limited environments and 1.5T MRI settings.
Looking for Collaboration:
I am looking to connect with neuro-radiologists, medical physicists, and researchers interested in Neuroimaging and Stroke workflows.
Let’s collaborate to make rapid stroke diagnosis more accessible globally.”
