Rucha Patil Reflects on 49th MHG Annual Conference and Essence of ASH 2025
Rucha Patil, Scientist at Department of Haemostasis and Thrombosis, ICMR- National Institute of Immunohaematology, shared on LinkedIn:
”The 49th Annual Conference of the Mumbai Hematology Group (MHG) 2026 and Essence of ASH 2025, held from 24th–26th January 2026 at Bombay Hospital, Mumbai, was truly an enriching and memorable experience.
An outstanding scientific program featuring eminent international and national speakers, dedicated faculty, and enthusiastic delegates—along with exceptional participation from across India in award orals and poster presentations—made this conference truly special.
Beyond the science, the conference offered invaluable opportunities for networking, reconnecting with colleagues, and sharing moments with friends and loved ones, making the experience even more meaningful.
I am deeply honored to serve as Secretary of MHG and to have had the privilege of conducting both the Inaugural and Valedictory sessions.
It was especially meaningful to speak on a topic close to my heart—Health Technology Assessment (HTA) for drugs, focusing on Emicizumab and Extended Half-Life (EHL) therapies in hemophilia, undertaken in collaboration with NHM, DHR, and ICMR.
Closing the conference by recognizing award winners and expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed was the perfect conclusion to an exceptional meeting.
An absolutely fantastic conference—made possible by teamwork, science, and shared connections.
And now, the countdown begins!
MHG turns 50—golden and fabulous
