Ming Y Lim: Launching a Virtual Iron Deficiency Clinic at the University of Utah School of Medicine
Ming Y Lim, Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Utah, shared American Society of Hematology’s post on LinkedIn, adding:
՛՛Great to be part of this initiative with American Society of Hematology on raising the awareness of iron deficiency and its impact on patients’ lives.
Locally, I am proud to announce that we recently launched a dedicated Virtual Iron Deficiency Clinic at University of Utah School of Medicine to increase and expedite access to care for individuals with iron deficiency within our health system.՛՛
Quoting American Society of Hematology’s post:
“Iron deficiency is one of the most common blood disorders in the world, yet millions of patients may not even know they have it.
Testing is often overlooked, and even when it is done, results are not always interpreted correctly. ASH understands the importance of raising awareness about this condition and the impact it has on patients’ lives.
The ASH Iron Deficiency Summit brought together experts, clinicians, researchers, and stakeholders from across disciplines to highlight gaps in diagnosis and care. These conversations reflect ASH’s commitment to understanding the full scope of iron deficiency, from identifying who is at risk to improving testing, interpretation, and patient outcomes.”
