- Acute PE Clinical Categories (A-E)
- Clearly defined risk factors to screen for during a targeted history and physical examination
- Overview of an effective PERT Team
- LMWH preferred over unfractionated Heparin for most patients
- Considerations for special populations (Obesity, Thrombotic APS, Brain Tumors, CKD, Pregnancy, Breastfeeding, Chronic Liver Disease)
- Recommendations for timing and utility of LMWH levels, noting Class III
Recommendation: No Benefit for most patients with acute PE ”
