Gianluca Franceschini: Precision Medicine Is Only Truly Effective If It Is Inclusive
Gianluca Franceschini, Director of the Research and Training Center on Integrated Therapies in Breast Neoplasms, Full Professor of General Surgery and Director of the Master’s Program in Integrated Therapies for Female Oncological Pathologies at Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Precision Medicine is truly effective only if it is inclusive
We had the honor of hosting Prof. Olufunmilayo Olopade from the University of Chicago at the The Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and the Gemelli University Hospital for the Faculty Lecture series, promoted by Dean Prof. Alessandro Sgambato.
A special thanks to Prof. Emilio Bria for organizing the event and inviting me, and to Prof. Giampaolo Tortora.
It was a privilege for me to introduce Prof. Olopade alongside them.
Her lecture on hereditary breast cancer and global genomics reminded us of a crucial point: precision medicine only works if it represents all populations.
A scientific message, but also a call for cultural and social responsibility.
Let’s work together to build increasingly inclusive precision breast care!”
