”Seminar at KU Highlights Challenges in Hemophilia Care and Access to Treatment
Karachi: A hemophilia awareness seminar was held at the University of Karachi under the auspices of the Pakistan Pharmacists Association -PPA Sindh, in collaboration with the Department of Pharmacology, conducted by the Hemophilia Welfare Society Karachi Pakistan.
The session was delivered by Mr. Raheel Ahmed Khan, Founder and CEO of HWSK, who highlighted the challenges faced by people living with hemophilia in Pakistan and emphasized the importance of awareness, early diagnosis, and multidisciplinary care to improve patients’ quality of life and accessibility of CFCs, stressing the important role of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) and the pharmaceutical sector in ensuring sustainable treatment access.
The organizers acknowledged Prof. Dr. Afshan Siddiq for her leadership in organizing the seminar and thanked Prof. Dr. Haris Shoaib, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Chairperson of the Department of Pharmacology, faculty members, and students for their participation.
Members of the HWSK team, including Dr. Nida, Mr. Abbas Ali, and Dr. Hiba, also contributed to the session.
Speakers noted that such collaborations are important for strengthening awareness and improving care for people living with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders in Pakistan.”
