Gianluca Franceschini: The Difference in Breast Cancer is Made by the Team
Gianluca Franceschini, Director of the Research and Training Center on Integrated Therapies in Breast Neoplasms, Full Professor of General Surgery and Director of the Master’s Program in Integrated Therapies for Female Oncological Pathologies at Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The difference, in breast cancer, is made by the Team!
I had the pleasure of participating in the program ‘Il Confronto‘ on Rai 2, conducted by Monica Setta, in an episode dedicated to current health, economic and social issues together with Lando Maria Sileoni (Secretary General of the Autonomous Federation of Italian Banks), Dario Lo Bosco (General Manager of Italferr) and Corrado Chiominto (Editor-in-Chief of the economic and financial editorial staff of the Ansa Agency).
During my speech, I wanted to draw attention to a fundamental issue for women’s health: the importance of being treated within a Breast Unit.
The scientific evidence is now very clear: women treated in multidisciplinary centers dedicated to breast cancer have greater survival and better quality of life.
The real difference today is not the individual doctor, but the strength of the team!
Continuing to inform and raise awareness on this issue is essential, because the quality of the organization of care can make a difference in people’s lives.
Here is the video with the full interview.”
