Clare Woodford: New NHS Access to Semaglutide Offers Hope to Prevent Another Stroke or Heart Attack
Clare Woodford, Head of Policy and Influencing at The Stroke Association, shared on LinkedIn:
”NICE‘s announcement that people who’ve had a stroke or heart attack and are overweight can access semaglutide on the NHS is an important development in tackling stroke and cardiovascular disease.
1 in 4 stroke survivors go on to have another stroke so this could be another vital resource in the toolbox to prevent more strokes.
Our website has more on stroke and weight loss, and steps to maintain a healthy weight.”
