Khaled Musallam: Revisiting Global Anemia Burden with Revised WHO Hemoglobin Criteria
Khaled Musallam, Group Chief Research Officer at Burjeel Holdings, shared a post on Linkedin about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, adding:
“Pleased to share our recent publication in The Lancet Haematology revisiting global anemia burden using revised WHO hemoglobin adjustment criteria for impact of elevation (above ground level).
This directly reshaped the global anemia prevalence estimate (2.4% higher), which equates to around 198 million more people impacted.”
