March is DVT Awareness Month, and while we often focus on acute events, the long-term impact matters too.

Up to 50 percent of DVT patients develop Post-Thrombotic Syndrome (PTS) a chronic condition caused by vein damage and increased venous pressure.

Symptoms can include:

  • Leg pain, heaviness, and fatigue
  • Swelling that worsens with standing
  • Skin changes and in severe cases
  • Venous ulcers
