“Post-Thrombotic Syndrome: The Hidden Impact of DVT
March is DVT Awareness Month, and while we often focus on acute events, the long-term impact matters too.
Up to 50 percent of DVT patients develop Post-Thrombotic Syndrome (PTS) a chronic condition caused by vein damage and increased venous pressure.
Symptoms can include:
- Leg pain, heaviness, and fatigue
- Swelling that worsens with standing
- Skin changes and in severe cases
- Venous ulcers
