Jim Hoffman: Linking Post-Acute Chronic Infection Brain Injury and Autoimmune Dysregulation
Jim Hoffman, Former Technical Advisor at Cygnus Technologies, LLC, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Outstanding videocast by Craig Shimaski, detailing the link between post-acute chronic infection brain injury and autoimmune dysregulation.
Autoimmune encephalopathy can also be triggered by the onset of cancer in genetically predisposed individuals.
A likely common link to autoimmune brain injury triggered by cancer and pathogenic infection is exacerbated ‘NETosis dysregulation‘ that may be able to be treated more directly and effectively with extracorporeal removal of Neutrophil Extracellular Traps (NETs) and extracellular chromatin released by other damaged and dying cells, into the blood circulation.
We need earlier diagnosis and improved early interventional therapies that can potentially mitigate debilitating and life-threatening chronic neurodegenerative autoimmune-mediated injury known to cause debilitating neurological motor and cognitive impairment, including better treatment for severe mental illness that often leads to suicidal and violent schizophrenia.
I will attach previous posts I have made in the comments section, including pioneering research, as to why we should be prognostically tracking and clinically trialing NET and extracellular chromatin removal therapies for serious post-acute chronic infections and the suspected development of cancer.
Not only to potentially mitigate the progression to severe sepsis or advanced- stage cancer but also to potentially reduce the risk of secondary brain and CNS and other secondary organ injuries that result from chronic NETosis dysregulation and impaired efferocytosis self-sufficiency.”
