Olivia Romero Lux: Raising Awareness of Bleeding Disorders in Women
Olivia Romero Lux, Chief Executive Officer of EHC – European Haemophilia Consortium, shared Canadian Hemophilia Society’s post on LinkedIn:
“The European Hemophilia Consortium is proud to be a partner in this global initiative to raise awareness of bleeding disorders in women.
Do you have periods that last more than 7 days in a row?
Do you need to change tampons or sanitary napkins at least every 2 hours?
Do you have clots the size of a 1 euro coin?
Consult your doctor or a hematologist.
You could unknowingly have a bleeding disorder and heavy uterine bleeding which can also lead to anemia and iron deficiency, and therefore severe fatigue.
Talk about it around you, to your daughters, your sisters, your mothers and your friends. Treatments exist.
And don’t hesitate to donate to support women and girls with bleeding disorders around the world.”
Canadian Hemophilia Society shared a post on LinkedIn:
“We are proud to support the launch of the ‘Elevate Her‘ project — a global initiative like Seven Summits to raise awareness and promote equality for women with bleeding disorders.
Over the next three years, the campaign will combine high-altitude mountaineering with international stories to highlight the experiences of women around the world and address persistent gaps in diagnosis, care and visibility.
Together, this campaign aims to raise $5 million to support organizations specializing in bleeding disorders in five regions of the world, to advance the education, care and advocacy of women and girls around the world.
Follow this journey and find out more.”
