Jared Treverton: Honored to Be Awarded ‘The Canada Graduate Research Scholarship’
Jared Treverton, MPS Researcher at Trent University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I’m excited to share that I’ve been awarded the Canada Graduate Research Scholarship – Doctoral (CGRS-D) from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
This funding will support my PhD research on anti-PF4 disorders, with a focus on heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT), a rare but life-threatening immune reaction to a commonly used blood thinner.
The goal is to better understand the underlying immunology of these disorders and improve how we diagnose them, helping bridge the gap between laboratory findings and clinical decision-making.
I’m grateful for the mentorship and support from my supervisor, Dr. Ishac Nazy, and everyone in the McMaster Platelet Immunology Laboratory and the Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Transfusion Research.
Looking forward to building on this work and translating these insights into more accurate and clinically actionable diagnostics.”
