Andrea Van Beek: A Big Day for Our Rapid Access VTE Clinic
Andrea Van Beek, Board of Directors of Anticoagulation Forum, National Certification Board for Anticoagulation Providers, shared on LinkedIn:
”Our Rapid Access VTE Clinic got a workout today
- 4 STAT ultrasounds
- 2 VTE diagnoses
- 2 patients treated in the Anticoagulation and Thrombosis Service without an ER visit
One of our physicians documented:
‘Fortunately, a system is in place for this to be treated acutely.’
Two patients were able to start treatment and return home to their families rather than spend hours sitting in the emergency department.
What a win. Coincidence I wore my Clot Walk shirt today?”
