Carla Goulart Peron: 79th World Health Assembly Momentum for Global Stroke Action
Carla Goulart Peron, Chief Medical Officer at Philips, shared on LinkedIn:
”May is Stroke Awareness Month, an important opportunity to raise awareness of a condition that continues to affect millions of people worldwide.
This year also marks a historic moment.
Next week, a strong and comprehensive World Health Organization resolution on stroke is on the agenda for adoption by Member States at the 79th World Health Assembly
Throughout my career, I have seen how unexpectedly a stroke can change a life.
I’ve also seen how greater awareness, access to the right care and timely intervention can help change that story.
I’m proud to work alongside my Philips colleagues and our partners like the World Stroke Organization and Medtronic Neurovascular and others in the Global Stroke Action Coalition.
We are committed to advancing stroke care through innovation and partnership.
Together, we aim to support clinicians in making faster decisions and help more patients receive timely treatment when every minute counts.
This month, I’m reflecting on the progress we’ve made, while recognizing the important work ahead.
Together, we can help reduce the global burden of stroke and improve more lives.”
