Evidence suggests that long-term use of certain anticoagulants, especially warfarin, may be linked to reduced bone density, increasing the risk of fractures.

It’s essential to balance the need for anticoagulation with maintaining bone health, especially for individuals at a higher risk of osteoporosis.

If you’re on anticoagulant therapy, it’s a good idea to discuss with your healthcare provider about monitoring your bone health.

They might recommend lifestyle modifications, like increased calcium and vitamin D intake, regular weight-bearing exercises, or possibly even discussing other anticoagulant options.

Your bones play a critical role in overall health, so always stay informed and proactive about your bone density alongside your anticoagulant treatment.”
