The Folding Pathway That Shapes Prothrombin Function – JTH
Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH) shared on LinkedIn about a recent article by Bosko Stojanovski and Enrico Di Cera, adding:
”The folding pathway of prothrombin
Prothrombin must fold correctly to adopt its compact, closed shape.
This study traces the folding pathway and shows that proper domain folding underlies the interdomain contacts that hold the closed form together.
The work matters because recent findings tie prothrombin conformations with weakened interdomain contacts to certain coagulation disorders.”
