Patrique Brown: Honoring Dr. Sanskriti Mishra for Her Exceptional Commitment to Stroke Care and Patient Recovery
Patrique Brown, Outpatient Imaging Supervisor at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, shared on LinkedIn:
”Honored to spotlight Dr. Sanskriti Mishra — a true force in stroke care.
From India to New York (Queens), Caribbean med school, residency in rugged Newfoundland, and now Director of the Stroke Program at Jersey Shore University Medical Center — Dr. Mishra’s path is defined by resilience, adaptability, and deep compassion.
After thriving as Associate Stroke Director at Maimonides Medical Center, she sought better work-life balance for her growing family and found the perfect fit at JSUMC.
There, she’s strengthening an already strong program while serving as Neurology Clerkship Site Director at Hackensack Meridian Health School of Medicine.
What drives her?
The urgency of stroke — and the humanity that follows.
She excels not just in acute care, but in walking patients and families through recovery with clear education, resources, and unwavering support.
Prevention, empowerment, and continuous improvement are her mantras.
She’s quick to credit her outstanding team — especially the superstar APPs: Marianna Ingrao, Jasper Besa, Valeria Miller FNP-BC, along with Drs. Laura Risley , Nasar Ali , and Chair Dr. Shadi Yaghi .
Fun fact: Dr. Mishra has lived in four countries — India, USA, Canada, and Saba (Caribbean) — shaping her cultural sensitivity and community-first mindset.
Outside the hospital, she treasures time with her husband (a Queens high school sweetheart) and their two young children.
Dr. Mishra proves that exceptional stroke care isn’t just about protocols — it’s about knowledge shared with heart, turning patients into partners and challenges into better outcomes.
Inspiring work, Dr. Mishra!”
