William Aird: Understanding von Willebrand Disease – A Visual Roadmap

William Aird, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Understanding von Willebrand Disease: A Visual Roadmap

Von Willebrand disease is often taught as a list of types, assays, and treatments. But the real key is understanding how the pieces fit together.

This infographic offers a visual overview of VWD, from classification and clinical clues to structure–function, diagnosis, treatment, history, and evolution.

It is a preview of a new comprehensive VWD module coming soon from The Blood Project.

The goal is not just to summarize the disease, but to help learners see the logic behind it:

  • structure shapes function
  • function shapes phenotype
  • phenotype guides diagnosis and treatment.”
