Isaac Okello: Strengthening Sickle Cell Advocacy in Uganda
Isaac Okello, Global Genes Leadership Council Member, shared a post onĀ LinkedIn:
“What is built with purpose never goes to waste.
Forged through years of advocacy, resilience, partnership, and collective action Raising Hope International Friends, member organization of the Sickle Cell Alliance Uganda (SCAU) is stepping into its next chapter with renewed strength, purpose, and determination to advance sickle cell advocacy in Uganda.
We are particularly excited and grateful for the leadership of the State Minister for Health in Charge of Primary Health Care, who convened this important advocacy meeting, bringing together key stakeholders and partners committed to strengthening the national sickle cell response.
The meeting provided an important platform for dialogue, policy engagement, and collective action towards sustainable financing and improved services for people and families affected by sickle cell disease.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Novo Nordisk Haemophilia and Haemoglobinopathies Foundation for continued support towards strengthening sickle cell programming and advocacy in Uganda.”
