The answer, sadly, as in so many Healthcare cases, globally, is of course – ‘That will depend ….’

It will principally depend upon how far and how fast global plasma supplies can be brought up to at least a genuinely minimum acceptable level – which currently they’re nowhere near.

It will also of course depend – very much – on whether we’re talking here about our priviliged High Income Countries or situations in less fortunate places.

Let’s face it though, with only a handful of countries, worldwide, actually generating a plasma supply adequate to meet their existing needs, the chances of transformational change coming from a new way of using up those scarce resources seem rather slim … don’t they …? ”
