Eric Topol: Anti-H2B Autoantibodies Linked to Aortic Calcification in Atherosclerosis

Eric Topol, Founder and Director of Scripps Research Translational Institute, shared a post on X about a recent article by Chuankai Zhang et al, published in Nature Cardiovascular Research, adding:

“Evidence for lymph node organs in unsuspected places of the body keeps emerging.

Now with the artery to promote autoimmunity and accelerate atherosclerosis.

An auto-antibody titer (anti-H2B) predicts thoracic artery calcification in people, at least as well as LDL cholesterol.”

Title: Artery tertiary lymphoid organs encode a pathogenic high-affinity autoantibody−autoantigen pair in atherosclerosis
