Adishwar Rao, IM Resident at Guthrie Clinic, shared a post on X about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in CirculationEP, adding:
”Thrilled and grateful to share our recent publication in CirculationEP, comparing left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) with oral anticoagulation in atrial fibrillation.
Across 6 RCTs and over 7k patients: LAAC was associated with a higher risk of ischemic stroke but a lower risk of nonprocedural major bleeding.
Overall stroke, major bleeding, and mortality were not significantly different.”
