Sarah Richardson: Finding Strength Through Bleeding Disorders Advocacy

“We came together from all across the country and from completely different professional backgrounds, careers and walks of life.

But we all share something that connects us, the bleeding disorders community.

Some are living with a bleeding disorder themselves.

Others are parents, caregivers, spouses or family members.

Each of us has a different story and a different ‘why,’ but we share the same goal: making things better for our community and for those who come after us.

The progress we benefit from today exists because advocates before us were willing to show up, share their stories and use their voices.

Now it’s our turn to do the same.

Advocacy matters because change doesn’t happen when we stay silent.

Our experiences and our stories put real people behind the policies being discussed.

Grateful for the friendships, connections and conversations from this weekend and even more motivated to keep showing up and using my voice.

Thank you, Hemophilia Federation of America for the amazing work that y’all do!”
