Andreas Kronbichler: The Changing Landscape of CV Risk in ANCA-Associated Vasculitis
Andreas Kronbichler, Director at Department of Internal Medicine IV, Medical University of Innsbruck, shared post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleague co-authored, published in Rheumatology, adding:
“New publication alert from our research group!
Cardiovascular risk trajectories in patients with ANCA-associated vasculitis change over time!
The risk of most cardiovascular events increases before diagnosis and peaks at the time of diagnosis!
VTE has been reported in up to 18% of ANCA-GN, and is clearly associated with inflammation.
This study shows a CVD-VTE hazard ratio of 7.7 during the initial phase of the disease, using a large population-based cohort from Sweden.
The Editorial was written by Clemens Untersulzner!
Just published in Rheumatology.”
