Tim Blair: Improving DVT Awareness, Early Diagnosis, and Access to Treatment
Tim Blair, Chief Executive Officer at ICHOR Vascular Inc., shared Peripheral Thrombectomy without Compromise’s post on LinkedIn:
“Greater DVT awareness should lead to earlier diagnosis, and earlier detection to the right treatment option and more efficient sites of care.
This article explores how better awareness, adaptive thrombectomy solutions like those being developed by iCHOR, and expanded access through ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) could reshape the way we diagnose and treat peripheral vascular occlusions.
The opportunity is to identify dangerous clots sooner, assess patients promptly, and make effective treatment more accessible before lasting venous damage or life threatening complications develop.
Anticoagulation remains the foundation of DVT care. For appropriately selected patients, accessible clot removal could offer an additional opportunity to improve long term outcomes.
Whether earlier intervention can also meaningfully reduce pulmonary embolism is an important question that deserves a more rigorous analysis.
At iCHOR, we believe advancing care means bringing together superficial vein and deep vein screenings, optimally designed technology void of compromises, and the right site of care (hospital or ASC depending on severity)
