The Changing Landscape of Anticoagulant Therapy – ISTH
International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Surasak Wichaiyo, published in JTH, adding:
“From heparin and warfarin to DOACs and emerging factor XI and XII inhibitors, the pharmacology of anticoagulation continues to evolve.
A new review in the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH) examines the mechanisms, clinical applications and limitations of currently available anticoagulants while looking ahead to novel target-specific approaches.
The review explores how direct oral anticoagulants have reshaped the prevention and treatment of thromboembolic disease and why FXI and FXII have emerged as promising targets in the search for effective anticoagulation with potentially lower bleeding risk.”
