Rob Maloney: Strengthening Patient Advocacy in Bleeding Disorders

Rob Maloney, Chief Executive Officer of Hemophilia of Georgia, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Some of the best teams are the ones you’re fortunate enough to inherit.

I’m spending time in the Dominican Republic this week at the World Federation of Hemophilia workshop, and I had the opportunity to watch our advocacy team share their expertise on advocacy and how we work to influence public policy on behalf of patients with bleeding disorders.

When I joined Hemophilia of Georgia, advocacy was already an integral part of our organization. I didn’t recruit them or add this department to the organization. I was simply fortunate enough to inherit an incredibly talented team who have dedicated themselves to advocating for our patients and community.

Watching them share their knowledge with international colleagues was another reminder of just how blessed we are to have them.

Advocacy is about much more than legislation. It’s about building relationships, educating policymakers, understanding how decisions are made, and making sure the voices of patients and families are heard when those decisions are being made.

Our advocacy team understands that better than most. They combine their deep expertise with a genuine passion for the people we serve, and their leadership makes Hemophilia of Georgia a stronger organization.

I’m grateful for everything our team does for our patients, our community, and HoG.

Thank you for your leadership, and I’m proud to be on your team!”
