Saskia Middeldorp: The Use of LMWH in Women With Pregnancy Complications
Saskia Middeldorp, Head and Professor of Internal Medicine at Radboudumc, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by her, published in JTH, adding:
“In this commentary in Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis on the GROWTH trial, I summarize the lack of evidence, and the evidence of absence of effect, on the use of heparin LMWH for women with pregnancy complications. Thanks to all investigators who remain persistent on getting high-quality evidence that women deserve so much.
It has taken way too long to say goodbye to a promise of heparin that has never been firmly delivered but does harm patients with the burden of injections, costs, and false hope.”
