Habib Bennaceur: Self-Sufficiency in Haemophilia Care – A Major Achievement for Panama
Habib Bennaceur, Senior Vice President of Rare Disease Unit at Novo Nordisk, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Self-sufficiency in haemophilia care: a major achievement for Panama!
With the completion of the third project supported by the Novo Nordisk Haemophilia and Haemoglobinopathies Foundation (NNHF), Panama now has the local expertise, institutions and leadership to sustain and further develop haemophilia care.
What is particularly remarkable is how local partners have taken ownership and driven lasting change.
The Ministry of Health expanded the network from 6 to 20 satellite clinics, while the establishment of specialised adult care addressed a critical gap in the transition from paediatric services.
These achievements demonstrate the power of long-term partnerships and local leadership in driving sustainable, systemic change.
I am proud of the commitment shown by the NNHF Council and team, and grateful for the leadership and dedication of the partners in Panama.
Discover the results of Panama’s third project and how local partners are now building on this progress to strengthen sickle cell disease care.”
