Salih Ehsan: Iron Deficiency Beyond Conventional Ferritin Cutoffs
Salih Ehsan, Chief Executive Officer at Kulsoom Society of Hematology, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”In some patient, the functional threshold for ferritin is much higher for neurological symptoms even after free from inflammation.
I think the role of iron in brain functions which reflect in ferritin( storage protein) levels maybe optimal range from 50 to 100 ng/ml.
My personal experiences about my patient shared below post.
Have you also face the same scenario, all Lab report are normal but patient giving all clues of iron deficiency.”
