“It was a privilege to deliver the ISBT Academy Session, ‘From Deep Learning to Agentic AI: Reimagining Decision Support in Transfusion Medicine’ and I am grateful to the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) for this opportunity.
The questions that followed were terrific, a mix of genuine excitement and skepticism, which is exactly the conversation our field needs to be having.
We’re moving from prediction to action.
But the questions that matter most remain the human ones: transparency, accountability, and keeping these tools genuinely useful to the people who depend on safe blood every day.
