”Neonatal Thrombocytopenia
Neonatal thrombocytopenia is a common condition in neonatal intensive care units (15–40percent of infants), serving as a crucial marker of severe diseases such as sepsis, viral infection, necrotizing enterocolitis, or alloimmunization.
Its importance lies in the high risk of bleeding (including intracranial hemorrhage) and the need for rapid diagnosis to differentiate treatable causes and prevent serious sequelae or death.”
