Inga Kakhniashvili: A Rare Case of Recurrent Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM)-related Haemorrhagic Stroke

Inga Kakhniashvili, Deputy Dean at Tbilisi State Medical University, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, published in Georgian Biomedical News, adding:

“I am pleased to share the publication of our clinical case report in Georgian Biomedical News (GBMN):

Longitudinal Recovery After Arteriovenous Malformation-Related Hemorrhagic Stroke with Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation

This report describes a rare case of recurrent arteriovenous malformation (AVM)-related haemorrhagic stroke in a young adult and documents substantial long-term functional recovery following neurosurgical management, structured multidisciplinary rehabilitation, and active family involvement.

The case demonstrates that, even after severe neurological impairment, the combination of timely neurosurgical treatment, coordinated multidisciplinary rehabilitation, and caregiver engagement can play an important role in restoring functional independence and facilitating successful reintegration into educational, social, and everyday life.”
