John Thymis: Five E-Posters Presented at ESC Congress 2026 in Munich
John Thymis, Academic Researcher at Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”I’m thrilled to share that I had the opportunity to present five e-posters at ESC Congress 2026, held from 28–31 August in Munich, Germany!
It was an incredible experience to share our work and engage in inspiring discussions with researchers and healthcare professionals from around the world.
My poster presentations explored important aspects of cardiovascular health and cardiometabolic disease, including:
- Cardiovascular and economic outcomes of combined GLP-1 receptor agonist and SGLT2 inhibitor therapy in type 2 diabetes
- The effects of SGLT2 inhibition on arterial stiffness, endothelial function and myocardial performance following STEMI
- The impact of smoking on endothelial function and arterial stiffness after acute myocardial infarction
- The association between Mediterranean diet adherence and subclinical cardiovascular and endothelial dysfunction in type 1 diabetes
- The effects of GLP-1 receptor agonists, alone and in combination with SGLT2 inhibitors, on myocardial deformation and myocardial work in type 2 diabetes
I am truly grateful to all my collaborators and mentors for their invaluable support and contribution to this work.
Presenting these studies at ESC Congress was a valuable opportunity for scientific exchange and inspiration, and I look forward to continuing this research journey.”
