Karen Schreiber: Beyond Clinical Outcomes – The Voices of Women with APS
Karen Schreiber, Scientific and Clinical Lead at Danish Centre for Expertise in Rheumatology (CeViG) and Danish Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Last week was Baby Loss Awareness Week
For women with antiphospholipid antibodies/APS, pregnancy after a previous loss carries a burden that our usual clinical endpoints do not capture. In our scoping review (6 studies, 114 women, 4 countries), women described trying to regain control under high risk, living with uncertainty & grief and gaps in information and monitoring.
They valued empathic, coordinated, multidisciplinary preconception care.
Patient voices matter so much – we need much more .. Silvia Aguilera, thank you for being such a strong voice for people with obstetric APS.”
