Louise Bannon: Don’t Wait Until You’re Diagnosed to Learn About Blood Clots
Louise Bannon, Director of Membership, Marketing and External Relations of ISTH, shared on LinkedIn:
”Every week, I meet someone who has experienced a scary blood clot.
Most recently, I spoke with a person who had a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) that progressed into multiple clots in his lungs, a pulmonary embolism.
Together, this is called venous thromboembolism (VTE).
It was a frightening experience for him, and he said that education was the key — both to understanding the condition and to knowing how to prevent it in the future.
Don’t wait until you’re diagnosed to learn about blood clots.
Take the time now to understand the risks, know the signs and take steps to protect yourself.
AND Don’t forget, World Thrombosis Day is on October 13!
From head to toe — take control.”
