Maeva May: Stroke Association Is Proud to Support WHO Resolution on Global Stroke Advocacy
Maeva May, Associate Director of Systems Engagement at Stroke Association, reposted from World Stroke Organization on LinkedIn:
”Absolute love this quote, ‘we are shifting from managing disability to preventing it’ – Stroke Association is proud to support this WHO resolution and the brilliant work that the Global Stroke Advocacy Coalition has led.
The time is now.”
Quoting World Stroke Organization‘s post:
”We are grateful for the clarity and leadership of the Government of Egypt in bringing forward a strong and comprehensive World Health Organization resolution on stroke, on the agenda for adoption by Member States at the upcoming 79th World Health Assembly.
This marks a historic moment, with the first-ever WHO Resolution dedicated specifically to stroke.
As highlighted in this message from His Excellency Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population of Egypt, no country is immune to the growing challenge of stroke.
The WHO Resolution, Reducing the Burden of Stroke: Strengthening Prevention, Acute Care, Rehabilitation and Health-System Readiness, provides a vital framework for governments to strengthen action across the full stroke pathway.
Commitment today means fewer deaths, fewer disabilities, and stronger, more resilient health systems for the future.
Support the Resolution at WHA79.
Join the call for Stroke Action Now.”
