Maia Meier: A Journey to Raise Awareness for Women with Bleeding Disorders
Maia Meier, Clinical Exercise Physiologist at Maia Letitia Fitness, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”For years, women with bleeding disorders have been underdiagnosed, overlooked, and often unheard.
This is where that begins to change.
I’m Maia – an exercise physiologist, mountaineer, and someone living with a bleeding disorder.
Over the next three years, I’ll be climbing the Seven Summits – the highest mountain on each continent – as part of a global initiative called Project Elevate Her.
This isn’t just about the mountains.
It’s about the women whose stories have gone unseen. The ones who have fought to be diagnosed. The ones who have navigated systems that weren’t built with them in mind.
Through each expedition, we’ll share stories from women around the world, raise awareness of the gaps in diagnosis and care, and work toward something bigger:
A global shift in how women with bleeding disorders are seen, understood, and supported.
This campaign aims to raise $5 million for bleeding disorder organizations across five global regions – supporting education, care, and advocacy for women and girls worldwide.
This is not a single moment.
It’s a multi-year journey.
And it starts now.
Explore the expedition and follow the journey”
