Maia Meier: Driving Change for Women and Girls with Bleeding Disorders
Maia Meier, Clinical Exercise Physiologist at Maia Letitia Fitness, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“After standing on the highest peak in Western Europe, the next stop wasn’t another mountain – it was Paris.
This project has never been about climbing mountains for the sake of climbing mountains.
Every expedition is meant to open doors to conversations that can improve the lives of women and girls living with bleeding disorders.
In Paris I had the opportunity to:
- Meet with the French Hemophilia Association (AFH) and the EHC team.
- Speak with the media about Project Elevate Her.
- Visit INSERM, one of France’s leading haemostasis research centres, to learn more about the incredible work being done in bleeding disorders research.
One thing became even clearer throughout the day: meaningful change happens when patients, advocates, clinicians and researchers work together.
Awareness brings attention.
Research creates knowledge.
Collaboration drives change.
Thank you to everyone who welcomed me and shared their expertise.
I’m leaving France even more encouraged by what’s possible.”
