Maria Elisa Mancuso Reflects on 2025 Annual Congress of the Italian Association of Hemophilia Centres

”On October 17–18, the Annual Congress of the Italian Association of Hemophilia Centres (AICE) took place in Rome.
Our heartfelt thanks go to all the speakers and moderators who enriched our knowledge with high-quality content and perspectives.
Thanks also to all those who actively participated, because a congress finds its true success and fulfillment only when there is a shared purpose and genuine engagement.
We discussed prophylaxis with a view to the future, innovative molecular therapies such as gene editing, von Willebrand disease, and the management of elderly patients.
The keynote lecture by Prof. Pratima Chowdary (London) made us reflect on the importance of identifying appropriate outcomes to optimize the management of people with hemophilia.
A special mention goes to the session dedicated to sharing real-world experiences with gene therapy in hemophilia A.
My personal thanks go to the Executive Board (Rita Santoro, Chiara Biasoli, Patrizia DiGregorio, Angiola Rocino, and Francesca Abbonizio) for all the work we have done together over the year, and to Anna Rita Ubaldi and the AICE Secretariat staff (Non Solo Meeting) for their professionalism and the consistently excellent organizational support that made this congress another unforgettable experience.
With the hope for another equally fruitful year ahead, we look forward to seeing you in Verona from October 16 to 18, 2026.”
