Marilena Vrana: I Want to Thank Grifols Deutschland for The Opportunity to Visit Their Premises and Biotest AG Manufacturing Facility in Dreieich
Marilena Vrana, Vice President at the Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA) Europe, shared on LinkedIn:
”I want to thank Grifols Deutschland for the opportunity to visit their premises and Biotest AG manufacturing facility in Dreieich, Germany last Friday.
Visiting the site alongside Anita Brikman and Marek Kortus was truly insightful.
I’m especially grateful to Petros Gatsios, Joerg Schuettrumpf, and Vera Ott, who guided us through the facility and shared their expertise.
With 400 skilled team members working around the clock, the site has the capacity to process nearly 3 million liters of plasma annually.
This was the first site I’ve visited where the entire process —from fractionation and purification to testing, production, and packaging —happens under one roof.
Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA) member companies operate cutting-edge plants that transform plasma into life-saving therapies while also exemplifying the scale and importance of Europe’s plasma manufacturing capabilities.
Up next on my member agenda:
- Tomorrow PPTA Europe event with Euractiv on the EU Critical medicines act
- Next week: I’m looking forward to visiting Haema Blood Donation Service Centre in Berlin as part of International Plasma Awareness Week (IPAW2025) activities, alongside patients from the GBS|CIDP Foundation International.
Can’t wait to share more!”
