Monica Verduzco-Gutierrez: A New Spasticity Education and Patient Journey Resource for Stroke Awareness Month Is Now Live

Monica Verduzco-Gutierrez, Professor and Chair of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, shared on LinkedIn:

”One of the most rewarding parts of my job is helping patients regain function and improve quality of life through the recognition and treatment of spasticity.

This Stroke Awareness Month, I’m proud to share a new FREE resource from American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMandR) that helps patients and caregivers better understand spasticity, its impact on daily life, available treatment options, and how to find expert care.

The interactive program guides users through the entire patient journey from diagnosis to long-term management.

Too often, spasticity goes unrecognized or untreated.

Education is the first step toward better outcomes.

Please share with anyone affected by stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, or other neurologic conditions.”
