Moses Udoisoh: Advancing Wound Healing Through Physics-Inspired Platelet Modulation
Moses Udoisoh, Research Fellow at Ignatius Ajuru University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Our paper that demonstrates that Platelet Inflammatory Tether (PITT) Formation can be inhibited selectively using the vibrational frequency of the Integrin has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Molecular Modelling (JMM), Springer Nature.
PITT is the mechanism that delays wound healing in persons with underlying systemic illnesses like diabetes, cardiovascular diseases or autoimmune disorders. PITT traps healing tissues in a state of chronic non-resolving inflammation.
Our work shows that this PITT action can be disrupted by assessing the frequency of vibration of the membrane centre of action, the surface integrins.
If validated, this work will provide the first proposal of a Physics inspired treatment for Diabetic Foot ulcers and other injuries that do not heal readily.”
