Mostafa Faisal Mohammed Saleh: Managing Severe Aplastic Anemia in Pregnancy After allo-HSCT
Mostafa Faisal Mohammed Saleh, Associate Professor of Clinical Hematology and HSCT at Assiut University, shared a post on LinkedIn about recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Immuno, adding:
“Excited to share our recent case report on managing severe aplastic anemia during pregnancy after prior allo-HSCT.
A challenging case of relapsed SAA was managed with:
- Eltrombopag
- Cyclosporine
- G-CSF
- Repeated stem cell boosts
Successful delivery of a healthy infant was achieved with close multidisciplinary care and careful maternal–fetal monitoring.
This report highlights the potential role of TPO receptor agonists in highly selected refractory SAA pregnancies when conventional options are limited.
Grateful to all co-authors and collaborators, especially Dr Mahmoud Aljurf, Abdulrahman Nasiri and the Adult Hematology, Transplantation and Cellular Therapy team at KFSHRC.”
