Nikki Veale: The Digital Stroke Recovery Programme in Cornwall Is Out Now
Nikki Veale, Research and Development Manager at iCareiMove, reposted from Stroke Association on LinkedIn:
”The co-designed digital stroke recovery programme in Cornwall is addressing the coastal and rural health inequalities in the duchy.
Check it out.”
Quoting Stroke Association‘s post:
”Over 240 people have a stroke every day.
Yesterday, the government launched its 10-year cardiovascular disease framework, setting out plans to help reduce one in four premature deaths caused by heart disease and stroke.
The framework aims to drive better prevention, earlier diagnosis, faster treatment and more consistent, holistic care through health and care services across England.
By addressing these challenges, we can improve public health, reduce pressure on the NHS and help tackle health inequalities for people affected by stroke.
However, for the framework to succeed, implementation must tackle the inequalities which all too often blight stroke prevention and treatment as well as ongoing recovery.
Only then will stroke patients get the rehabilitation and support they need to recover and rebuild their lives.
At a time when more people of all ages are having strokes, this has never been more urgently needed.
We look forward to working with the government and the NHS to ensure these commitments translate into meaningful improvements for stroke survivors and their families.”
