Patrick Robert Receives Otto Schwarz Award at Plasma Protein Forum 2025
Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA) shared on LinkedIn:
”The Plasma Protein Forum continued this afternoon with a session examining how state policy impacts plasma collection and how PPTA works with members to harmonize regulations across the U.S. During the panel, Nathan Schaefer, MSSA reminded attendees that “The sooner you engage lawmakers the more likely you are to be successful in helping patients in the long run. ”
The next session highlighted innovation in testing and manufacturing, showing how new technologies ensure continued safety and quality.
Panelists noted that while the industry has “already had a lot of advances,” more are needed to meet patient need.
Then, Washington insiders gave critical insights on health priorities in Congress, including PBM reforms, Medicaid, and other policy changes.
Christopher Wilcox noted that “there’s a lot of raw feelings and emotions in this charged Capitol Hill environment,” with panelist Eric Gascho adding that “there’s a really difficult push and pull with Congress trying to legislate in this [health] area.”
To conclude the day, this year’s Otto Schwarz Award recipient was given to Patrick Robert!
The Otto Schwarz Award recognizes individuals who have made an extraordinary impact on the plasma protein therapeutics community.
Please join PPTA in congratulating Patrick on this well-deserved recognition!”
