Rikke Johannessen: Acknowledging Africa CDC Leadership in Advancing Africa’s NCD Agenda
Rikke Johannessen, Director of Global Development at Novo Nordisk Foundation, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I want to sincerely acknowledge the leadership of Africa CDC in placing noncommunicable diseases firmly at the centre of Africa’s health agenda. It was a great event during WHS.
From advancing the AU Common Position on NCDs, injuries and mental health to translating political commitment into action through MECA and SPARK‑NCDs, Africa CDC is showing what principled, system‑building leadership looks like.
Bringing governments, public health institutions, academia, civil society, and partners together around a shared framework is no small feat—and it’s exactly what progress requires.
It is a privilege for the Novo Nordisk Foundation to engage with Africa CDC on this journey.”
