Sarah Richardson: On Capitol Hill, Speaking Up for Patients

”Out of the office today, but exactly where I need to be.

I’m on Capitol Hill advocating for the bleeding disorders community and honored to be the only advocate representing Kentucky on this trip.

As both a mom to a child with hemophilia and a member of the bleeding disorders community, these conversations are deeply personal.

Today, we’re asking lawmakers to:

  • Co-sponsor the Patients’ Access to Specialty Pharmacy Care Act
  • Support the HELP Copays Act
  • End Alternative Funding Programs that create barriers to care.

These policies directly impact whether patients can access and afford the treatments they rely on every day.

Grateful for the opportunity to share our stories and help ensure that the voices of patients and families are heard where decisions are made.
